Who We Serve

We serve clients who:

  • Live in their own homes, in apartments and condos and in assisted living facilities.
  • Are most frequently women living alone who are able to cook for themselves but, for many reasons, are unable to shop for and bring home their own groceries. We also deliver to long-time married couples as well as to many single men.
  • Have varied levels of income, making many of them eligible for subsidized delivery services.
  • Are the parents of adult children concerned about their parents' nutritional health.

Store to Door® shops for and delivers groceries to over 1,000 elderly and disabled adults every two weeks across the seven-county metro area. The basic qualification for the service is an inability to shop for and bring home your own groceries.

We ask current and potential clients to be willing and able to:

  • Generate a grocery order every two weeks, working with an order taker or using an online ordering system. (The majority of our customers work with friendly staff or volunteer order takers to develop a personal grocery order on the phone.)
  • Receive groceries delivered into their homes during our delivery window, Tuesday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
  • Pay for the groceries (and delivery fee, where appropriate) with a check or credit/debit card.
