Shopper of the Year

2015 Store To Door shopper of the year holding certifivcate

Michelle says, “I had a job where I said ‘I HAD to go to work.’ Now I say “I GET to go to work.’ I share this with all the volunteers who give so selflessly.”

Store To Door has hundreds of exceptional volunteers.  But once a year, we give special recognition to individuals who have gone above and beyond in their service to seniors.

Here store coordinator Dustin Weil highlights the extra efforts of 2015 Shopper of the Year Michele Sayers.

Michele is one of several outstanding Store To Door shoppers I work with, but here’s what sets her apart for this special honor:

  • First, Michelle gives lots of time at our Cub Foods in Crystal. She shops on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus she is a frequent substitute on other days when extra shoppers are needed.
  • Second, Michelle’s work is consistently excellent.  She hustles without being careless. She attends to details without losing awareness of our broader objectives. And she exercises tenacity without ever abandoning her trademark graciousness.
  • Lastly, Michelle has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the overall effectiveness of our team. She asks often what needs to be done, accepting sometimes tedious assignments without complaint, so fellow volunteers are free for more enjoyable activities.

Plus, Michele has valuable ideas, which she presents in constructive ways. She is generous with encouragement and proactive about offering practical support.

Would you like to join Dustin’s shopping team in Crystal or volunteer at one of our other five Cub Foods shopping locations?  Or maybe you’d enjoy volunteering from home, taking seniors’ grocery orders over the phone?  Check out these and other volunteer opportunities today!
