Jim Butts, board chair, announced today the appointment of Karen Cotch as executive director of Store To Door, the Twin Cities only nonprofit grocery delivery service for seniors.
Karen fills the position formerly held by Mary Jo Schifsky, who announced in June 2015 that she planned to step down on October 1 after leading the organization for nine years.
Significant Management Experience
Karen comes to Store to Door with more than 25 years of nonprofit management, leadership and development experience. Previously, she founded and served as executive director of Seeing Hands, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals with vision loss. In addition, she served as a management consultant for Twin Cities area nonprofits and operational manager for The Minneapolis Foundation.
Earlier in her career, Karen worked as director of administration at Columbia University Community Services, aiding homeless individuals and families in New York City. She earned her master’s degree in public health administration from University of South Carolina and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Buffalo.
Commitment to Service
“We’re very excited about the tremendous experience and strong personal commitment to improving the lives of others that Karen brings to Store To Door,” Butts said. “We’re looking forward to this next chapter in our organization’s work to help local seniors live independently and age with dignity in their own homes.”
“In the coming weeks and months,” commented Karen, “I look forward to engaging fully with our staff, our incredible volunteers and donors, and the aging adults we serve. This is a remarkable opportunity to lead Store To Door as more seniors every day want to age in place and need basic services such as grocery delivery.”
Karen is available for interviews. For scheduling, contact Development Director Tim Puffer at 651-209-1855 or email@example.com.
