Volunteer Opportunities

Choose a volunteer role that’s right for you:

Order Taker (pdf)
Want to volunteer once a week from your home or office?  Order takers call seniors each week and enter their grocery lists into our online ordering system.  You choose a convenient time (day, evening or weekend) and we match you with clients. You’ll call the same four seniors (two per week), and orders take about 30 minutes each. We ask for a one-year commitment, and we can accommodate schedule variations. And once you’ve signed up to volunteer, you have two convenient training options:  Complete our self-paced online modules or attend an in-person training.

Enjoy shopping? Want to get a little light exercise?  From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00  a.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays, teams of volunteer shoppers fill seniors’ orders at grocery stores in Bloomington, Maplewood and St. Anthony. You choose the day (once a week or every other week) and location that works best for you.  We ask for a six-month commitment, and we can accommodate snowbirds, summer birds, vacations and other life events.

Volunteer Matchmaker (pdf)
Do you have great phone skills and an eye for detail? Our volunteer matchmakers review client and volunteer information to match order takers with seniors based on their available days and times for grocery order calls.  You’ll work 3 to 4 hours weekly at our Roseville office, making calls and updating spreadsheets and database records. We ask for a six-month commitment and we can accommodate adjustments to your schedule.

Office Assistant
Help with data entry, research and other administrative duties at our Roseville office. We ask for a three-month commitment of 2 to 4 hours per week during regular business hours.

Coupon Clipper
Collect unused coupon books or clip and organize coupons. This is a terrific opportunity for groups and individuals of any age as a one-time or ongoing activity at any location.  Coupons raise needed funds to support our clients.

Outreach Team Member
Have experience in marketing, public speaking or recruitment? We are always looking for individuals who can help spread the word to seniors about our services, as well as recruit new volunteers and rally other support.

General Volunteer
Throughout the year we have a variety of short-term projects for volunteers. Please call our office for more information.
